UNITED STATES

In the USA, Durga Tree International’s program is focused on educating and empowering the next generation of consumers and activists. We have already reached over 2000 high school and college students and support three high school Youth Ambassador Clubs. We are currently creating a Travel - Safely Toolkit for college students traveling abroad, which will be available in 2019.

INDIA

Our very first program and partnership was in India, with Her Future Coalition. Responding to an urgent call for help from Director Sarah Symons, Durga Tree International was formed. Our anchor program was helping to construct a shelter for 150 girls rescued from slavery in northern India. We continue to provide support for education & vocational training for survivors & high-risk girls throughout India.

For the past 4 years, in partnership with La Alianza in Guatemala City, Durga Tree International has helped provide legal services, social work, housing, counseling, education and vocational training to girls who are survivors of extreme sexual violence and trafficking. Our newest program is for girls transitioning out of shelter care into independent living with their infant children.

THAILAND

In partnership with Her Future Coalition, we launched the Bloom Program in Chiang Rai, Thailand, near the border of Myanmar, for young women who are members of the marginalized and highly vulnerable hill tribes. Through the Bloom Program, high risk women receive training and employment as artisan goldsmiths, or in other professions of their choice.
